Robin Ebers, who has recently joined WPS, was, for 21 years, a guest speaker aboard the QE2 lecturing on photography and about cruise destinations. He also has some AV shows of the QE2 and QM2 which he has shown to clubs in the area. On December 9th, he was invited by Cunard to the press day aboard the newest vessel in their fleet, the Queen Victoria. The photographs on the left show some of the sumptuous interiors of the ship.

MM-Book

A new book by Michael Maunder has just been published, entitled, “Lights in the Sky”.

Michael has been a WPS member for many years and is well known for his astro-photography. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Chemists and a Council Member of the British Astronomical Association and has written other books on astronomy as well as co-written others with Sir Patrick Moore.

Sir Patrick has given his endorsement to Michael’s latest book.

This new book encourages us all to look more at what we see every day - the sky, and to understand what produces phenomena that can be photographed to produce spectacular images. Notably, the front cover is also a self portrait!

The book is available at Waterstones and on-line at Amazon.co.uk.

Meetings are every Tuesday evening from the beginning of September until the end of June
at Owen House in Heathside Crescent in Woking. Meetings start at 8:15pm (avoids the car park charge!)

Affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the SPA

The Society supports the London Salon with membership as a Friend

The Society was formed in 1955 and since then has seen many changes in photographic styles and technique. The original aims of the Society, to encourage and advance all aspects of still photography, are as relevant today as they were then. Our members possess a wide range of skills and are always pleased to share them for the benefit of other members.
